Michael Redmond

Michael has been the Chief Operating Officer for eHealth since 2017. Many years before that, he started his ICT career as a Junior COBOL Programmer with the Revenue Commissioners. As his career progressed, he moved to the Department of Foreign Affairs, then to the Department of Finance, where he worked as a Systems Analyst.

From there Michael moved to the health service, and having succeeded in a range of senior roles, he had the privilege of being appointed the first Chief Operating Officer for eHealth.

As COO for eHealth, he is responsible for the effective and safe operation of the eHealth and ICT business. The COO also plays a lead role in developing and articulating eHealth strategy, and in translating that strategy into action. Using a suite of metrics, divisional performance is monitored, and improvement targets are set, across a range of areas such as HR, Finance, Projects portfolio and others.

Driving excellence across the division, the COO team creates new capability in eHealth such as Robotic Process Automation, O365 adoption.
