Gynaecology Electronic Chart implemented at The National Maternity Hospital

The MN-CMS National Project Team is delighted to announce the Maternal and Newborn-Clinical Management System (MN-CMS) Gynaecology Electronic Chart has been successfully implemented at The National Maternity Hospital (NMH) making them now fully digital.  This will extend the benefits already realised in their maternal and newborn services in terms of patient safety, care delivery and improved patient experience.

Many congratulations to the team in NMH working with the MN-CMS team and Cerner Ireland, building on the previous successful implementations in Cork University Maternity Hospital and The Rotunda to provide a comprehensive EHR to their patients. They will be closely followed by University Hospital Kerry.  

The smooth transition from paper to electronic recording of care is due to the strong clinical leadership, close collaboration and cooperation between the Local Implementation and Back Office Teams across all four sites, the National MN-CMS Project and Back Office Teams, the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Cerner teams and the National Woman’s and Infant Health Programme.

The Local implementation Team celebrated the Go-Live with a cake-cutting ceremony by (L to R) Alphonsa Pius (MN-CMS Training Lead), Sive Cassidy (MN-CMS Maternity Project Manager), Dr. Shane Higgins (Master) and Molly Vinu (Gynaecology Project Manager).
