HSE Technology and Transformation Initiatives Shortlisted for National Awards in 2025
We are proud to share that multiple initiatives from across the HSE Technology and Transformation portfolio have been shortlisted for national recognition at both the Tech Excellence Awards 2025 and the Digital Transformation and AI Awards 2025. These nominations reflect the dedication of our teams and partners in delivering impactful, patient-centred digital transformation at scale.
At the Tech Excellence Awards, three of our flagship programmes are finalists for Public Sector Project of the Year:
Virtual Wards – HSE in partnership with Doccla - part of our National Virtual Ward Programme, this model of care allows patients to receive hospital-level treatment from home. Using remote monitoring and virtual consultations, it supports early discharge and avoids unnecessary hospital admissions while ensuring clinical oversight and continuity of care.
HSE Health App - a secure and accessible digital front door to health services. Since its launch in February 2025 there has been just under 52,000 verified downloads of the HSE Health App. The app has also been shortlisted in the Digital Transformation and AI Awards 2025 for Best Digital Transformation Implementation Collaboration, recognising the collaborative effort behind its national rollout.
MN-CMS Electronic Health Record Programme - MN-CMS is delivering a single, shared electronic health record for all woman and infants in Maternity, Gynaecology and Newborn. By supporting safer, standardised and paperless care, MN-CMS is changing how clinical teams access and share vital health information. This is MN-CMS’s second major award nomination in 2025, having also been shortlisted for the Irish Healthcare Centre Awards, recognising its leadership in national digital health delivery.
In addition, our SCS-CMS Team (Specialist Community Services – Clinical Management System) has been recognised across three categories at the Digital Transformation and AI Awards 2025 for their work to digitise complex, specialist community services:
- Most Innovative Transformation – HSE Technology and Transformation – Paper to Digital.
- Best Digital Transformation – Healthcare and Life Sciences – HSE Technology and Transformation – Paper to Digital.
- Best Digital Transformation – Public Sector – HSE – Making Specialist Services Electronic.
These nominations demonstrate how digital solutions, when co-designed with frontline services, can improve experiences and outcomes whether at home, in the hospital, or in the community.
