Standards and Shared Care Records (SSCR)

Enable the sharing of standardised, interoperable digital health records for both healthcare professionals and citizens, nationally and across borders

The National Shared Care Record (NSCR) will aggregate individual patient records from various healthcare providers such as hospitals, General Practice and community services, and present these records in a structured way to clinicians and to patients and their families and carers in a coherent view to inform clinical decision-making and self-care. The NSCR will ultimately be available to all clinicians with a need to view patient records aggregated from different source systems and to patients seeking to view their clinical details, informing their health related decision-making.

The HSE is developing a Data Dictionary in order to standardise all data elements throughout the organisation. This Data Dictionary will allow the HSE to derive information based on standards for better patient care and outcomes.

The eHealth Digital Service Infrastructure is an infrastructure ensuring the continuity of care for European citizens while they are travelling abroad in the EU.
