Irish Healthcare Awards 2016
The awards ceremony kicked off on the 10th of November, with many healthcare innovations and products winning various categories.
The Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) won the ‘Excellence in Healthcare Management’ Award. An IHI is a number that safely identifies a person who has used, is using or may use a health or social care service in Ireland. NER won an award
‘Best use of ICT”. They were the winners out of 19 entries. NER is a national electronic solution to ensure a seamless transition for NCHDs when rotating between employers, negating the requirement to repeatedly complete pre-employment paperwork and reducing the administrative burden on employers.
The cancer trials have won an Award in the category BEST PATIENT EDUCATION PROJECT – NON-PHARMACEUTICAL for their "Just Ask" campaign to encourage people with cancer to ask their doctor is there a cancer trial available for them. The campaign was also part of our name change programme from ICORG to Cancer Trials Ireland.
TSCUH Clinical Portal provides the clinical teams with a unified view of patient information from five disparate hospital systems, the presentation of clinical correspondence, recording of diagnosis and electronic results signoff under one secure and remotely accessible system. They entered the “Best Use of Information Technology,” where there were 19 entrants, 3 shortlisted and they got a commendation.
