Digital Ambulance wins Public Sector Project of the Year Award 2019

On November 14th the HSE's Digital Ambulance project was crowned Public Sector Project of the Year 2019.  The award, which was given as part of the annual National Project Awards ceremony, was for the implementation of new technology in Emergency Ambulances and RRVs for the National Ambulance Service.  The ceremony was hosted by the Ireland Chapter of Project Management Institute (PMI) and was held in partnership with PWC.

On the night the HSE Digital Ambulance project, which was shortlisted just two weeks previous to the award, competed against two other, very worthy projects, the Electricity Supply Board's (ESB) - Project Arrow and Maynooth University's Maynooth International Engineering College.  The evening was compered by Anton Savage, took place in the Dublin offices of PWC and were not only a celebration of the outstanding projects being delivered in Ireland but also the 50th anniversary of PMI globally.

Alyssa Tiernan, ICT Projects Manager, speaking after the event said,

 

"Digital technology is used to record clinical records to ensure continuing high standards of patient care using three key ICT systems: an Electronic Patient Care Report, a Mobile Data Terminal and Communications Hub. A team of more than a hundred have been involved over many years to make this project a success. It is a shining example of strong team work, dedication and a common goal to improve patient care. We are all very proud of this project and everything that we have all achieved as a team."
