Quality and Patient Safety
The Quality Improvement Division was established in 2015 to support the development of a culture that ensures improvement of quality of care is at the heart of all services that the HSE delivers.
In Nov. 2015 the Division, together with the National Medical Device Committee and Office of CIO, launched two national web based systems
- National Medical Device eAlert Systemto provide an organisation wide assurance in the management of medical device alerts as issued by the competent authority the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA)
- Medical Device Equipment Quality Assessment & Improvement (QA+I tool)to facilitate assessment against HIQA National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare (2012) and the HSE Medical Device Equipment Management Policy and Best Practice Guidance
