Epilepsy ePortal Funding
A big congrats to the RCSI who have received funding for a new project from the HRB. This project is an Applied Partnership Project called "Co-producing health and well-being in partnership with patients, families and communities: The role of the epilepsy patient portal.” This is a great initiative which will help improve healthcare throughout Ireland.
The aim of this project is to investigate the role of an electronic patient portal in promoting the idea of “person and family centred care,” in epilepsy. This project will explore how something such as an ePortal can help create a culture of trust between the patient, families and clinicians. The core idea behind this is “putting the patient and family at the heart of every decision and empowering them to be genuine partners in their care.”
Hopefully this will lead to more empowered patients, and stronger relationships. We’re looking forward to hearing updates from this project as it seems it’s going to be very helpful to many people.
