Healthmail nominated for Award

We are delighted with the recent announcement that Healthmail has been shortlisted for a GP Buddy award in the category of ‘Best GP and Hospital Collaboration! Huge congratulations to all staff in the Access to Information team, led by Gemma Garvan. 

healthmail 2Healthmail, secure clinical email, is a service that allows health care providers to send and receive clinical patient information in a secure manner. Users are issued with email accounts and this will allow them to communicate patient identifiable clinical information with clinicians in primary and secondary care. The service was originally launched in 2014 for General Practitioners and their staff but has since been expanded to Community Pharmacies. All HSE and Voluntary Hospital email addresses are automatically connected to Healthmail along with another 30+ healthcare agencies nationally. Healthmail is configured to be easy to use and will improve electronic communication for the benefit of patients and clinicians.

Now in its second year, the annual GPBuddy Awards Ceremony recognises excellence, innovation and collaboration among GPs all over Ireland The Awards will recognise the tireless efforts of those working on the ground to improve the lives of patients all over the country. General Practitioners and healthcare professionals from the recently qualified to the long-established will be recognised for their dedication, commitment and innovative contributions to community based healthcare in Ireland.

The winners of the GPBuddy National GP Awards, in association with Affidea Ireland will be announced on Friday 22nd September at a ceremony hosted by television personality and GP, Dr Pixie McKenna, in Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel.
